The Crew

Captain Rex retired from the U.S. Navy in 1996 after 22 years in the aviation community. Project managed with several companies then retired again to Colorado only to go back to work at Lake George Charter School taking care of technology and security. He retired again in 2019 at 63 to chase a dream of sun, salt, boats and diving for as long as life will allow.

First Mate Sonja, wife and life long companion of the Captain, raised four wonderful children in the chaos that accompanies a military life. She found time to have a career of her own as a newspaper editor, singer songwriter and is a veteran of the U.S. Navy. She remains active with the Western Music Association and as a freelance writer. In the middle of all that she is a two time cancer survivor. “She is the love of my life” (Captain Rex).

The Oliver Clan consists of Rex & Sonja, along with their four children and two grandchildren with another on the way and due to arrive in 2020.
